CNS, along with the worldwide community of patients, scholars, and physicians, laments the recent passing of Dr. Stephen Hawking. Some years ago, he kindly wrote the prologue to "Handbook of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis which was edited by our director, Dr. Richard Smith. We assume that anyone who had a personal relationship with Dr. Hawking would be interested in reading this.
